Mahama campaign hunt for bodyguard who attacked multimedia journalist
Campaign Team for Former President John Mahama have mounted a manhunt for the security detail of the former president who attacked Joy FM staff, Kwesi Parker Wilson.
Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Ade Coker, who disclosed this on Asempa FM‘s Ekosi Sen Friday, said the team has referred the matter to the security who have begun investigations into the matter.
He said when the security is able to identify the suspect, the campaign team will intend, take action accordingly.
“We are looking for the person or persons who attacked Parker. We actually called Parker and asked him to identify but he failed to do so because the people were so many at the time of the incidence.
“The security set up have begun a search for the culprits and I can assure you that when the suspects are found, we will take action accordingly,” he assured.
The Joy FM reporter was slapped by the bodyguard, whose identity is yet to be known, the radio station’s online portal reported.
It was at the start of Mr Mahama’s five-day tour of the Greater Accra Region ahead of the December 7 presidential primary of the NDC.
But Mr Ade Coker said the team is ever ready to foot the bills of the journalist who has been left with a bruised eye.
