The Minister for Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has called for the bluff of the Minority Members of Parliament over claims that government has borrowed Ghc 80 billion in two years saying they are being mischievous.
He stated that the figures being put out by the Minority clearly shows they have a hidden agenda they are pursuing since they known clearly the NPP has never borrowed monies to the tune of the Ghc 80 billion they are claiming.
The Minority Members of Parliament on Thursday accused government of borrowing over Ghc 80 billion in their last two years of office. They asked the government to show the projects that have been done with the borrowed monies.
But reacting to the allegations from the Minority, Oppong Nkrumah stated that, there are things that caused the public debt stock to rise and it is not as a result of government borrowing as being painted by the Minority.
He added that there are project loans which were secured by the NDC administration but have been disbursed. The Information Minister said the loan accumulated with interest which automatically caused the debt stock to rise.
