Half Assini (W/R), June 16, GNA 97 Mr Thomas Elleam Yankey, a parliamentary aspirant for the National Democratic Congress in the Jomoro Constituency, has donated GH¢650 worth of room furniture to the party.

Half Assini (W/R), June 16, GNA 97 Mr Thomas Elleam Yankey, a parliamentary aspirant for the National Democratic Congress in the Jomoro Constituency, has donated GH¢650 worth of room furniture to the party. The items were 22 chairs and three tables, which would be used to furnish the newly constructed constituency office at Half Assini. At a short ceremony at Half Assini on Thursday to present the items, Mr Yankey, an indigene of Nawulley in the Jomoro District, who is based in the United States of America, said he was moved to make the gesture after visiting the new constituency office sometime ago. Receiving the items on behalf of the party, Mr Anthony Kwofie, the Jomoro Constituency Chairman, described the gesture as laudable and timely. He thanked the aspirant and assured him that, the party leadership in the constituency would ensure fairness to all parliamentary aspirants. "The constituency executives would not shun anyone who has an ambition of contesting the parliamentary seat on the ticket of the NDC and added that, the delegates at the party's congress would decide the best candidate for the party in the 2012 general elections", he said. He said Mr Yankey who is the second person to have declared his intention to contest the Jomoro parliamentary seat on the ticket of the party.
