NDC Primaries: Pandemonium at Tema East as polling agent tears ballot paper
Vote counting in Tema East was halted as a polling agent was alleged to have ripped ballot papers.
The Ghana Report gathers that just as the counting of votes began, one polling agent who is yet to be identified picked up some ballot papers and tore them into pieces.
His action forced some members of the party to pounce on him but the timely intervention of the security personal present saved the situation.
However, counting resumed as soon as the scuffled was settled.
Mr Isaac Ashai Odamtten, a former Tema Metropolitan Assembly Chief Executive, had polled 891 votes to win the primaries in the area.
His only challenger, Nii Kraku Bediako, had 266 out of the 1157 valid votes cast.
The local Electoral college roll was 1330, according to Mr Alex Asamoah, the returning officer, and an official of the Electoral Commission.
