NPP youth urged to rise up against unfounded propaganda by the opposition

Mr William Owuraku Aidoo, Deputy Minister of Energy, has charged the youth of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to rise up to counter the propaganda being peddled by the opposition NDC to discredit the government.

He said the government had worked hard to put effective and pragmatic initiatives in place to build the economy which was left in shambles by the NDC, and put the country back on the development pedal.

However, the NDC afraid that the successful implementation of these initiatives could jeopardise its political ambition, had mounted and set out its propaganda machine in place to thwart the efforts of the government.

Speaking at the inauguration of the polling station youth of the Afigya-Kwabre South Constituency of the NPP at Kodie, Mr Aidoo, who is also the Member of Parliament (MP) for the area, said the youth should not sit down and allow it to continue.

“After clearing the mess left by the NDC government in 2016, and working hard to put in place appropriate policies and programmes to put the country back on track, the NDC had now engaged in unfounded propaganda, to distract the government,” he bemoaned.

Mr Aidoo said the NPP youth had the duty to tell Ghanaians the true state of the economy as well as the numerous social intervention programmes being implemented by the government to improve the living conditions of the people.

He said the NDC government engaged in several dubious agreements, especially in the energy sector, which had brought huge debts on Ghanaians.

Mr Aidoo said the government was renegotiating some of these agreements to ensure that Ghanaians had value for money.

He said the country now had a government which listened to the plight of the people and would continue to work hard to promote development and improve the living conditions of the people.

The Deputy Minister urged the youth to work to defend the Party and support the government to fulfil all its promises to Ghanaians.

Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, Constituency chairman urged the youth not to allow themselves to be manipulated or influence to change the sitting MPs in their constituencies.

He said the Party needed the experience and expertise of the sitting MPs to support the government to deliver on its mandate.
