Kwesi Pratt, Editor-in-Chief of the Insight newspaper, has implored President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to keep all his promises to Ghanaians.
According to Mr. Pratt, President Akufo-Addo has no excuse but to ensure that he completely delivers on his promises.
Speaking on Radio Gold's 'Alhaji and Alhaji', he alluded to some of Nana Addo's campaign promises, calling on the President to surely create a dam in every village, establish a factory in every district, disburse 1 million cedis to all the 275 constituencies among others.
“I’m exceedingly happy that he will keep all the promises he made in the campaign and that should be gratifying. That should make every Ghanaian very [very] happy. Because if the President keeps his word and there’s no reason why the President should not keep his word, corporate taxes will be reduced from 25% to 20%. Hallelujah! Hallelujah!!
“If the President keeps his word and there’s no reason why he shouldn’t keep his word, 17.5% VAT on Local Air Travel tickets will be abolished. Who would not want this? If the President keeps his word, VAT on Real Estate sales will be abolished. If the President keeps his word, import duty on machinery and raw materials for manufacturing in Ghana will be abolished. If the President keeps his word and there’s no reason why he shouldn’t keep his word, Senior Secondary Schools will be free,” he said.
Kwesi Pratt wished the current administration good luck in improving the economy.
“I am so [so] happy and I see a very [very] prosperous Ghana under the leadership of His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo if he keeps all his promises,” he added.
