Napo gets outright NPP ticket for 2020 parliamentary election

The Member of Parliament for Manhyia South, Dr Mathew Opoku Prempeh, has received a unanimous endorsement to go unopposed in the 2020 parliamentary election on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party.

A constituency delegates’ conference in Kumasi last Saturday concluded that the Education Minister will have no competition in the NPP parliamentary primaries.

The conference discussed educational infrastructure, roads, water, sanitation, scholarship and other projects initiated in the Manhyia South constituency.

Ashanti Regional first vice-chairman of NPP, Kwabena Senkyire , joined delegates and constituency executives to openly announce Dr Mathew Opoku Prempeh will go to the primary unopposed.

He observed the NNP’s bid to retain power in the 2020 general elections will demand hard work.

According to him, in order for Manhyia South Constituency to receive a lot of developmental projects , there is the need to retain Dr Mathew Opoku Prempeh.

He was of the view that, Dr Mathew Opoku Prempeh is vocal, eloquent and very outspoken and if given the nod to represent the people of Manhyia South again, he will bring a lot of changes in the constituency.

Addressing the delegates, the Manhyia South MP thanked the delegates for having confidence in him and promised to deliver more and help build Manhyia South and Ghana at large.

He urged the NPP members in Manhyia South to fully participate in the ongoing Ghana Card registration exercise in the Ashanti Region.

‘’In line with the decision of the national leadership of the party, I urge all and sundry , including party faithful, to participate in the ongoing Ghana Card registration exercise in the Ashanti Region’’, he said.

He said the party has taken it upon itself to educate members of the NDC on the importance of having the card.

‘’Every member in the Manhyia South Constituency is seriously being encouraged to go for the card’’, he stated.
