Tema, Jan. 8, GNA- Dr Paa Kwesi Nduom, flagbearer of the Convention Peoples' Party (CPP) has taken his campaign to the Tema and Ashaiman Central markets, urging the traders that his party was sure to bring socio-economic relief to Ghanaians.

He spent about two hours to tour the markets separately with cheers from the women; with some of them shouting that Ghanaians needed a change as the governance of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has brought untold hardships to the people.

They also mentioned the increases in prices of petroleum products, which they claim affects all goods and services. Addressing the party faithfuls, Dr Nduom said after seeing the governments of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the NPP, he was confident that the CPP was the best alternative to govern the nation as it has solutions to most of its problems.

The CPP presidential candidate assured that the party would bring hope and confidence to the people by creating more jobs for the youth in all sectors of the economy to give true meaning to the Nkrumahist patriotic song "work and happiness".

He said it was about time Ghanaians "benefited from the fruits of their own labour by having a fair share of the national cake" and also patronizing local products, saying that, this would be achieved when the industries are revitalized as his party was ready to do. Dr Nduom assured that he would conduct his campaign on ideas and principles, devoid of ethnicity, and called for a massive support for the party to enable it to win the elections 2008.

He said the CPP would continue with the unfinished programme of the founding father of the party, Dr Kwame Nkrumah. He also took the opportunity to visit the heads of the communities and the executives of the Tema Community Five taxi drivers union to introduce himself to them.
