Residents along the Kasoa Oboom – Domiabra Road which also links Nsawam and other farming communities have vowed not to vote in the December Polls unless the road is tarred.

Mr. Nicholas Sowah, Assemblyman for the area told the Ghana News Agency that apart from being an asset to farmers, the road would provide commuters from Ashanti Region to the Central Region an alternative route. It would also ease traffic congestion in parts of Accra.

He therefore appealed to the authorities to give the road out on contract to ensure the free flow of vehicles and foodstuffs.

Mr. Sowah, who is also the First Vice Chairman of the Kpomeitey Branch of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), said the condition of the road had compelled drivers to increase fares from 50 pesewas to 70 pesewas.

He also appealed to residents to exercise patience and participate in the forthcoming parliamentary and presidential elections while he worked with stake holders to find solutions to the road.

Mr. Sowah also urged residents to keep their surroundings clean, especially during the rainy season, to avoid the breeding of mosquitoes, adding that, they should also refrain from dumping refuse into the drains.**
