Deputy General Secretary of the opposition NDC, Koku Anyidoho, has attributed the outburst by his colleague Deputy General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Obiri Boahen, to frustration and neglect.
A secret recording of the controversial politician, has gone viral. In the recording Obiri Boahen alleged that the Flagstaff House, gave the NPP GHC50 billion old cedis to hold last year’s National Conference at Cape Coast in the Central Region.
In the said recording, Obiri Boahen said he had completely been neglected by the party and that as General Secretary, he has no official vehicle.
Koku Anyidoho, in an interview with Ekourba Gyasi on Atinka AM Drive explained that Obiri Boahen feels neglected by the NPP despite the efforts and contributions towards the party’s victory in 2016.
According to Koku Anyidoho, the content of the recording could warrant a possible dismissal of Kwaku Boahen from the party which is sad.
“He felt left out; why would John Boadu give just GHC5,000 to a general secretary out of the alleged GHC50 billion old cedis dedicated for the event? This is what happens when you eat and leave some key persons out”, he bemoaned.
The NPP has however, in a statement, denied the allegation, describing Obiri Boahen's comments as unfortunate.
According to the statement, the Steering Committee of the party has been tasked to immediately look into the matter and make appropriate recommendations.
