Deputy General Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Obiri Boahen is wondering why the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) is furious over the invitation of national chairman of the party, Mr Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service.
According to him, the NDC is only being mischievous over the issue and therefore should not be taken seriously.
“What at all is your problem when the Police invites your chairman? He has only been invited and not arrested for God’s sake and so stop ranting and allow the laws to work. They know their bad deeds and so are always scared at the mention of the CID,” he told Accra based Okay FM monitored by Adomonline.com.
The national chairman of the NDC has been invited by the CID under the excuse that he had been linked to the recent kidnappings and fire outbreaks in the country.
The letter from the police inviting the NDC national chairman said “some persons picked up for interrogation and investigation have mentioned your name as part of a grand scheme designed to cause fear and panic in the country.”
Reacting to the invitation, lawyer Boahen urged the NDC to stop complaining and respect the laws of the country.
