The Member of Parliament for Ofoase Ayirebi in the Eastern Region, Mr Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has presented educational materials particularly mathematical sets to 1500 candidates in the Akyemansa District expected to sit for the Basic Education Certificate Examinations (BECE) this year.
The presentation is an annual exercise to support BECE candidates in the district.
The Akyemansa District Education Director Rosemond Antwi who received the items at a ceremony on Monday, 3 June 2019, praised the MP for his numerous contributions to education in the district.
The MP who is also the Minister for Information in a message delivered on his behalf said the gesture was part of his commitment to improve the standard of education in his constituency.
Mr Nkrumah said the mathematical sets were a vital tool for the examination.
He wished the candidates well in their examination and challenged them to pass and enjoy the government’s Free SHS stimulus package.
Mr Nkrumah also expressed his gratitude to the district education assembly for its support in developing the constituency.
He urged parents to ensure that their children make adequate use of the opportunity by encouraging them to take their studies seriously to propel them onto greater heights.
