Party elders support my bid – Kofi Adams

Kofi Adams, an aspiring National Organizer of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) has said his bid for the position is to save the party.

According to him, most NDC bigwigs support his candidature against the other contenders for the same position.

He boasted that he received calls “from party founders, party executives saying that before your announcement we had been thinking about it that we are going to propose it for you to consider and push it down your throat.”

“My declaration came as a very welcoming news to the party people. It’s been like something they themselves were looking out for; that if there is anything that needed to be done for this party to assure them of a progressive future then it was the position of the national organizer.”

He told citifmonline.com that every serious party will want to have its various departments well rooted, well connected and right persons in strategic positions in order to retain power.

He added that “We must admit that as a country we have a very good president who cares a lot about this country, so we have a very solid leader there. What we need now is to have a party that will be able to organize its programmes to fit into the national programme and to bring out the political beat of what is being done by government for the people to see and by extension to benefit the party and to benefit the party that is also in government and all boils down to organization.”

When asked why he is contesting the incumbent National Youth Organizer, Yaw Boateng Gyan, Kofi Adams said “I must say he has done his bit, [adding that] there is time for everything,” hence calling on party members to vote massively for him.

The three candidates vying for the National Organizer position are – Kofi Adams, Yaw Boateng Gyan (incumbent) and Aboagye Didieye.

Meanwhile, the party is currently organizing its regional elections which will be followed by election of its national executives.
