Former French international Willy Sagnol’s high demands and experience affected his chances for the Ghana national team job, supersport.com has reported.
Sagnol, once a Bayern Munich defender, wanted a $70,000 take home per month if he landed the job, our sources reveal.
“He asked to be paid $70,000 and was not ready to beat it down and also his experience with Africa as a coach was limited to his involvement with a few African players at his former club,” the source stated.
The former Bordeaux gaffer was the only applicant who met the Ghana FA search panel in person for an interview last week.
Kwasi Appiah who eventually got the job will be receiving not more than $40,000 as salary. He begins his job on May 1, 2017.
