The Ghana International Trade Fair Centre La, was besieged by thousands of fans and sympathizers on Friday March 23, 2018 for the much anticipated memorial concert of the late Priscilla Opoku-Kwarteng known in showbiz circles as Ebony Reigns.

Ruff Town Entertainment, in collaboration with the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture and Kasapreko Company Limited teamed up to bring the wonderful musical concert to patrons who thronged the venue in honour of the late Dancehall diva.

Dubbed ‘Ebony’s Tributes Concert’, organisers and artistes who mounted the stage on the night were spotted in black customized T-Shirts with the image of Ebony embossed in it.

The Frenzied fans were treated to dazzling and energetic performances from artistes including Sarkodie, Edem, Ras Kuku, Coded of 4X4, Gemini, Donzy, Regi-Rockstone, Nana Boroo, Kurl Songz, Kwesi Arthur, Epixode, Article Wan and many more which lasted for 4 hours.

Prior to the event, there were some controversies over the week after the manager of the late artiste, Ricky Nana Agyeman aka Bullet angrily took to social media to attack some artists as ‘hypocrites’; revealing that they wanted to charge before performing.

His insinuations sparked elephantine public uproar making people tag Shatta Wale and Yaa Pono (Pono Biom) to be the artiste who demanded the payment. Bullet implicated Yaa Pono after indicating that Shatta Wale is not the artiste who demanded the payment.

The Tribute Concert comes barely 24hours to the final funeral rites and burial service for the late Dancehall act slated for Saturday, March 24 at the forecourt of the State House in Accra.

Ebony died in a ghastly road accident on Thursday 8th February 2018 after the Jeep she was travelling in run into a VIP bus near Mankraso in the Ashanti region. Her best friend Franky Kuri and Atsu Vondee, a military personnel who posed as a body guard also lost their lives in the tragic accident.

Ebony proved herself worthy to be maintained in the industry after her first song "Dancefloor", in December 2015 became a hit and was nominated for the unsung category at the 2016 Ghana Music Awards.

She is also known for her hit songs Sponsor, Date Ur Fada, Kupe, Maame Hw3 and Hustle.
