Broadcast journalist and ardent supporter of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Salifu Maase, popularly known as Mugabe has descended heavily on President Akufo-Addo and his appointees, describing the government as 'useless.'

Mugabe Maase, who is also the host of Inside Politics on Power FM alleged that he was being monitored by government officials and attempts were being made to eliminate him in the same way as member of Tiger Eye P.I., Ahmed Hussein Suale.

“…Nana Addo, send your boys, that they should go and kill Mugabe. I’m not Ahmed Suale. I’m telling you, Nana Addo, IGP, Kan Dapaah, I’m not Ahmed Suale. I’m sending a signal to the President, National Security, enough is enough with the intimidations…” he bellowed.

“You will see where power lies. Be very careful because the power will change.

“You’ve made up your mind to silence the few who are not ready to kowtow to whatever you people want to do…” he added.

His fury seemed to have stemmed from a random search which was conducted on him by some police personnel. He further alleged that other members of staff of Power FM were equally being subjected to ‘unfair and unsolicited’ harassments from officials of the NPP led administration.

“…I was driving my Landcruiser when suddenly police officers numbering about 2 or 3 in patrol cars stopped me, ordering me to park so they can search me as if I deal in cocaine, or sell drugs, guns or ammunition. Same treatment was meted out to Prince Minkah, Apostle Joseph Jackson, Oheneba, Beposohemaa…”

“…Without fear or favour, useless president with useless ministers and administration. How much was spent on the Legon Hospital, you’ve spent about 9million Ghana cedis on ambulances so you want us to sing your praises. What about the man who built the bank hospital, Wa regional hospital, CHPS compounds among many other things? he quizzed.

In April last year, Salifu Maase was invited by the police after alleging that investigative journalist, Manasseh Awuni Azure would be assassinated by the NPP following the release of a documentary by the latter.

During his questioning, however, he is reported to have claimed to be under the influence of a spirit.

“Mugabe was invited to come and assist because he said this assassination will take place. When he was questioned, he said he was under the spirit,” then Director of the Police CID, DCOP Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah, told journalists.
