Vote-buying rocks NDC primaries?

Two of the defeated aspirants in the parliamentary primaries of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), have lamented the influence of money in the Saturday polls.

MP for Kumbungu, Ras Mubarak who lost his seat told JoyNews there was vote-buying in the elections, especially in his constituency.

According to the legislator, he had reported a case of money laundering to the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI).

He said people were sharing money in the constituency few days to the elections.

The MP also lamented limiting the elections to delegates alone contributed to his defeat.

According to him, he is very popular in the constituency and if the polls were open to all party members – like it was in 2015 – he would have maintained his candidature.

“Elections in Ghana are so easy. Just make sure you are the highest bidder on the Election Day and you will surely win,” Hamah wrote.

She added: “I couldn't do so, despite that I am the most resourceful of the candidates; I have chosen the path of the Sanatana Dharma and I couldn't betray it.”
