We are tired of polished politicians with poor leadership - Kwaku Kwarteng

Kwaku Kwarteng, Member of Parliament for Obuasi West and a prominent member of Kennedy Agyapong’s campaign team, has made a compelling appeal to Ghanaians to rally behind Ken Agyapong in the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagbearer race.

Speaking passionately on the topic "Fixing Ghana: The role of NPP", the MP said Ghanaians were fed up with leaders who looked good on the outside but failed to deliver results.

“Ghana needs Kennedy Agyapong more than he needs Ghana. We are sick and tired of politicians coming in designer suits and speaking impeccable English but delivering poor leadership,” he declared.

“Ghana’s future is at stake. I urge our countrymen and women to support Kennedy Agyapong to change the course of this country. It is only someone like Kennedy Agyapong who can fix our broken systems because he commands a unique force.”

He emphasised that Ghana was at a critical juncture where the nation required bold, results-driven leadership rather than polished rhetoric.

“Ghana is approaching a critical state where politicians risk becoming an endangered species unless we change our behaviour in political leadership,” he added.

Kwarteng also acknowledged that while Kennedy Agyapong might not be flawless, his leadership style suits Ghana’s current challenges.

“I have never believed that Kennedy Agyapong is a perfect man. He has his weaknesses, but every country, depending on where they are, deserves a particular kind of leadership,” he noted.

The Obuasi West MP further appealed to all stakeholders to ensure a free and fair election during the party’s flagbearer contest on January 31, 2026, warning that Team Ken would firmly resist any attempts to subvert the process.

“Any attempts to undermine the electoral process will be met with appropriate action from Team Ken,” he cautioned.
