The National Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Henry Nana Boakye (Nana B), has sounded a strong caution to President John Dramani Mahama.

Speaking in an interview on Peace FM on May 8, 2025, Nana B claimed that President Mahama thinks he has the undying support of Ghanaians because of his massive victory in the 2024 presidential election.

However, he said the recent #SavetheJudiciaryDemo shows that a cross section of the public is unhappy about some of the president's actions.

“Truthfully, the way Ghanaians came out (for the demonstration) shows that His Excellency Mahama, wherever he is, needs to sit well.

“Ghanaians voted for you overwhelmingly, this is a fact, and we have accepted it. But if thousands of Ghanaians came out after 5 months to protest some of the things you are doing, that they are unhappy about, then you must be careful,” he said in the Twi dialect.

He added, “Don’t take the mandate of the people for granted. I think the margin of victory has gotten into his head, so he thinks he has some unwavering goodwill from the people… but he must know that Ghana was not sold to him.”
