Former National Women’s Organizer of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), Anita Desooso said the current executives deserve commendation not condemnation.According to her, the tremendous work of the Kwabena Adjei-led NDC has made the party very attractive.
“We managed to bring the party from opposition to power under late President Mills and retain it in power under President Mahama so we deserve praise,” Anita stated.
The aspiring Vice Chairman on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme indicated that a party which hitherto had to beg for people to contest position are getting over 100 people contesting only about 28 positions.
Anita Desooso underscored the need for the all incumbents vying for various positions to be retained as a sign of appreciation for their hard work.
On what she brings on board if voted into office, Anita said she will champion the cause of women especially at the grassroots to be relevant to the NDC.
“With my vast experience in grassroots mobilization, I will impact that in the youth and women in the party to retain us in power,” she added.
Meanwhile, there are six vice chair positions for the taking as the NDC constitution demands but 16 people are vying for that position.
They include former Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Betty Mould Iddrisu, former Education Minister, Lee Ocran, former Local Government Minister, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, former Heart of Oak CEO, Harry Zakour and others.
