What Akufo-Addo will be doing in 2019

Government has revealed 6 projects it will be embarking on this year.

The projects as outlined by the Minister for Information and Member of Parliament for Ofoase Ayiribi Constituency, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah are:

- Infrastructure

- Agriculture

- Industralisation

- Entrepreneurship

- Social Protection Programmes

- Domestic Resource Mobilsation

Oppong Nkrumah who was speaking to Kwami Sefa Kayi on Peace FM's morning show 'Kokrokoo', explained, "We have six things we want to do in 2019: we have infrastructure…there will be a lot of infrastructural projects starting 2019 followed by Agriculture. We are targeting a million farmers and we want to include rearing for food and jobs and planting for exports. The third is industrialization…for more jobs, followed by entrepreneurship; technical skill or assistance for the youth. Fifthly, we will also concentrate on social protection…making sure the private sector is developed through social protection programmes and then finally, domestic resource mobilization in economics will improve; broadening the tax net…"

According to him, all these projects have been budgeted and monies will be released for them soon.

He further noted that even though the first two years of Akufo-Addo's administration was used to 'repair the damage' done by the Mahama administration, in 2019 and 2020, there will be great change in the country.

"This first two years, even though we met a lot of challenges from the previous government we’ve been able to address them and we are moving in the right direction. We have laid the right foundation and put the pillars in place...In 2019, we are going to see a high level of efficiency and releases (of money)" he added.
