The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament (MP) for Nhyiaeso in Kumasi, Hon. Kennedy Kankam has used unprintable words to describe colleague lawmaker on the opposite side of Parliament, Hon. Mohammed Muntaka Mubarak.

According to Hon. Kennedy Kankam, the Deputy Minority Chief Whip and National Democratic Congress (NDC) lawmaker for Asawase is a selfish person among all members of the august house.

“Hon. Muntanka unlike Hon. Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu [MP for Suame] is selfish”, the Nhyiaeso lawmaker described during one-on-one interview on Kumasi-based Fox FM monitored by MyNewsGh.com.

Hon. Kennedy Kankam explained that, Hon. Mubarak under the erstwhile NDC administration used his position to lobby and divert funds for Cocoa roads meant for the entire Ashanti Region to developed only Asawase Constituency.

“This should tell you how selfish he is unlike Hon. Osei Kyei Mensah who is an MP and a Minister”, the Nyiaeso MP added.

Hon. Mohammed Muntaka Mubarak last, month described his colleagues in constituencies within the Kumasi metropolis and its adjoining municipalities as a lazy bunch who fail to lobby for development for their people.

He claimed those MPs are comforted by the belief that, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) would win any seat in the Ashanti region, “even if a dog stood on its ticket to contest for the position of a Member of Parliament”.

The Minority Chief Whip also asserted that, his colleagues, “instead of going down to serve their constituents, rather go about lording themselves over them, and in some cases, intimidate them with their security escorts”.

Speaking in an interview with Kwame Adinkra on Kumasi-based Pure FM, monitored by MyNewsGh.com, Hon. Muntaka said, “Some of them who just entered Parliament and have been privileged to become deputy ministers, move around with police escort everywhere, apart from when they are going to the toilet”.

The comments appear not to have gone down well with the lawmakers who have started hitting back at Muntaka with unprintable adjectives.
