Contrary to what the discredited former EC Chairman said, this is another example of how elections are rigged far away from polling stations and Ghanaians must wake up. I agree with EC that many people would be disenfranchised if bio-metric identification is the only way to ID voters, considering that it is well known that bio-metrics has a high failure rate. What she should also introduce is provisional ballots -- which is allow folks who have voter ID cards but fail bio-metric check to vote, however should include coding that marks the voter as not identified. These provisional voters would be giving a couple of days to prove Identity before the provisional vote is counted with others. Also EC should have personnel available to re-scan finger(s) to correct problem right away or at least for next election. We have to continuously work on these registers to make them more reliable to prevent court disputes. We are using technology then we should use same to clean out anomalies.

So have the people been taken for granted? I think we should lay the blame at the feet of out corrupted supreme court and our bogus legal system. I trust the woman will use the flawed 4 minute verdict of the Supreme court to justify her decision. We are doomed.

This is the best news I have been waiting for a very long time to hear. bravo. That stupid "No verification No Vote" is a complete no-brainer as it disenfranchises voters. Biometric verification equipment must be only one piece out of the four main identifiers used in verifying a voter being them, the Voter ID, the Voters Register, any other nationally recognized and .legal piece of Pictured-ID e.g,. a passport or travel certificate or even a Driver's Licence. If a voter with his/her intention of casting a vote but the defective BI machine fails to capture him/her, why should he/her be disqualified or disenfranchised? It denies the voter one of his basic and fundamental rights as enshrined in our constitution. Well done EC!!

There is nowhere in the advanced countries that they use Biometric system to verify voters before they vote.The reason is simply because they have credible identification cards and addresses.Many Ghanaians don't have official or residential addresses nor proper national identification cards.Govt cannot even write directly to all the citizens in the country as it is done in the advanced world.Yet they have been registered as voters because somebody guaranteed for them or acknowleged them.In case the Biometric system fails to function as it happened to the Nigerian President Goodluck.Can we now say because the Biometric has developed a technical fault or failed to identify the person that we all know very well in the area so he should not vote?The Nigerian experience has proven that when Biometric fails,you can use another means to verify that person.The title is misleading,it should read "you can vote if the Biometric fails".That means to say you must be able to provide other form of verification that will satisfy all the polling agents and the EC officials during the exercise.Thank you.

Meanwhile the facts are that:
1. The 9 Supreme Court judges voted on each of the 6 counts of the petition.
2. The 9 judges dismissed each of the 6 counts by majority decision (ranging from 5-4 to 9-0) which carry same weight with respect to court decision.
3. The Supreme Court, therefore dismissed ALL COUNTS of the petition; each count having been rejected by majority decision.
There NEVER was anything like the judges dismissing the petition by majority 5-4 decision.
Why try to twist history by presenting untruths for facts? Shameful!

The EC should come clean with better ideas than what they're trying to suggest. We can't allow fraud in the electoral system when the state has invested money to be used to ensure genuine voting during elections. That's absolutely unacceptable! The new EC boss should wake up and do the right thing.

What will happen is that,if I am a candidate and I get to know that,the votes of a particular voting station will not favor,the only thing,I have to task my self with,is how to ensure that ,there is over voting,so that ,those votes will be cancelled to my advantage.
What I will have loved to see in their proposal is,making it a criminal offense for officers failure to sign,the results submitted to the EC. I don't see the reason why if you have been trained for that purpose,you will forget the last phase of it,which is signing, if not for some alternative motive.
Also,come out with the number of years for one to spend behind bars,if caught in election malpractice. In this case,whoever wants to indulge him or her self in knows ,how many years he or she has to be in prison,so as to consider if it worth ,engaging in a malpractice
