Mr Bright K. Demordzi, Member of Parliament for Bortianor/Ngleshie Amanfro Constituency, has pledged to continue to work for the Constituency to bring total development when voted for the second term.
He also pledged to continue to initiate projects to ensure massive improvement in constituency through lobbying and attracting developmental projects from both the Central Government, Non-Governmental Organizations, International Development Agencies and Organizations.
Mr Demordzi gave the pledge at the launch of his Campaign to seek his constituents’ consent to represent them for second term on the National Democratic Congress (NDC) ticket in the 2016 election.
He said when given the nod, he would ensure continuous equitable distribution and allocation of future projects and initiatives, among the various communities of the constituency.
“In 2012, I promised you that when elected I will support students in the constituency to further their education. Nearly two and half years, since I became MP, I have supported 350 students in Senior High School, Vocational Institutions Polytechnic and at the University levels.
“Today, I’m promising you that in 2016, Bortianor Health Centre will be upgraded to a poly-clinic status, and Kokrobite and Galelia will also have their Information and Communication Technology Centres,” he said.
Mr Demordzi said from 2004 to 2012, there was no road from Tuba through Bortianor but during his tenure of office as the National Democratic Congress MP for the area, they had the project and “I vividly want to see the end of these projects”.
He noted that it was difficult to lobby for projects and promised to continue with the good work when voted for the second term.
He also urged the delegates to endorse President John Dramni on November 21, 2015 to enable him to lead the party in the 2016 general election.
The MP also urged the delegates to come out in their numbers on that day to cast their votes devoid of any fear.
Mr Theophilus Tetteh Chaie, Member of Parliament for Ablekuma Central, called for peace within the Constituency during and after the November 21 primaries.
He noted that ‘pull-him-down syndrome’ did not bring progress and development and urged the constituents to rally behind their incumbent MP to ensure total peace and transformation.
“It is not common for someone with one term in Parliament to get to where Mr Demordzi has gotten to, and this should alert you that he has a leadership quality that can drive the constituency forward.
“I’m appealing for your support for him to continue this good qualities in Parliament and his constituency," he added and cautioned that if the constituents made a mistake and change the leadership in the constituency, the seat will elude the National Democratic Congress come 2016.
On Saturday, November 21, 2015, 5000 delegates would cast their votes to elect the Member of Parliament to represent them in the 2016 elections.
