But what he failed to say which I think was a political shot for the opposition NPP was that the UK, between 2004 and 2015, received 15 GITMO inmates from the USA. They are made up of 9 UK nationals and one each from Iraq, Libya, Jordan, Algeria, Ethiopia and Saudi Arabia.
This info is on the internet but the way he put it it appears to many Ghanaians that the UK has not taken in any GITMO prisoners. We only need to do a little bit of reading to make our own judgments. Were we not spoon-fed enough in school?

Immediately after the violence at Talansi, NDC officials started to propagate deceitfully that it was a mob fight between NDC and NPP supporters, and the Interior Minister shamefully joined in to say that "violence begets violence". Yet, the Minister forgot that it was his duty to investigate the matter thoroughly through the security forces and tell Ghanaians who did what exactly, since arms and thumb-printed ballot papers were confiscated from some people at the crime scene.
These exhibits could have led us to the real criminals and masterminds behind the stuffing of ballot boxes and shootings at the constituency. But, our unprofessional police preferred to toe the line of those in power, and claimed that they were going to prosecute ghosts rather than follow the available leads. In the last suicide bombing at the mosque in Kuwait, the security officers identified and arrested the owner of the car that took the suicide bomber to the mosque and followed it up with arrest of the driver. From that point, the investigations led to the masterminds and accomplishes of the heinous crime.
The question is why didn't our security forces investigate the leads that could have lead us to the bigger picture, rather than gloss over them as if they confiscated the AK-47s, cutlasses and thumb-printed ballot papers from the air? Our security forces and the government including Mr. Woyongo are trying to bury the truth between Azorka boys and Bolga Bull Boys, and blindfold Ghanaians in order to cover the government's own tracks in the violence meant to steal the verdict of Ghanaians again. Ghanaians deserve better than the dirty tricks of this NDC government.

Strange, is it not? Ambassador Benjamin can't fool us all into thinking that he has been any neutral in our Politics. He may as well keep mute now on the political on-goings in the country but he has already said enough to better position the Akufo-Addo train on an advantageous track. He knows he has done enough already to jeopardize Mahama's political chances to retain power. For all who want Mahama to leave, that is good enough.
What I am vehemently opposed to is Akufo-Addo's climb into the Presidential seat, something that many observers would agree the Ambassador has helped with over the years.
I wish it were either Bawumia, Dr. Kwaku Frimpong-Boateng, Alan Cash or someone else in that NPP Flagbearer's position. Period! Akufo-Addo is not sincere in any of his public show of unity both inside the NPP and across the entire Nation's electoral field.
He is heavily tainted with bigotry that he has still to apologize to the Nation for. And he quietly sat by to let the NPP develop almost irreparable fissures. Unfortunately, that's who the Ambassador has been coyly routing for, contrary to his assertions now that he remains neutral.
Meanwhile, the British Ambassador knows all too well that it is the rejection of the detainees that would endanger our security more than their acceptance to live amongst us but would no dare touch the truth.
We all knew before the arrival of the detainees that all Nations with any significant leanings to the Western values ought to be vigilant and not become an easy prey of the extremist jihadists. It did not have to take the presence of the 2 detainees, whom we are only helping to resume living free, to be reminded of that important responsibility.
So, yes. Mr. Ambassador, Ghana welcomes your silence any day, so long as it keeps her safer.

Mr. Benjamin has shown to be the most outspoken Diplomat in Ghana among previous and current Corps of Diplomats in the country, largely speaking on our Political issues.
If he did that in, say, China, where Democracy is tightly restricted, he would be long gone out of that country. Our internal Politics is not something he should be so frequently intrusive on. We have been able to maintain a reasonable level of Democracy that does not call for diurnal supervision by foreign representatives.
If he is so keen about helping us solve our corruption problem, for example, that he has often insinuated about, he should revisit our deals with his countries' business entities that had our Telecoms offered to Vodafone along with our Fiber Optic Infrastructure, and our Ashanti Gold Mines to AngloAmerican Gold for pittance. The last time I checked, the Ghanaian President and Business Executive who led the both deals were hansomely rewarded with British Knighthoods, GCB and KBE respectively. The Business Executive even got enough bonus to enable him to set up a Venture Capital Company abroad that does not even operate any significantly to boost Ghana's economic horizons.
Why doesn't he talk more on how to win for Ghana reparations from the British for under-developing our country for so long before our Independence? We would reward him with our highest State Honor, the Order of Star of Ghana. We may even create a new unique Honor for him. Say, the 'Order of Emancipation From Imperialism Against Ghana'. He, rather, seems to be more interested in preserving the remnants of the Colonial puppets they left behind to allow their continued manipulation of our Nation for their ultimate convenience.
