The are some who are still lost and don't understand this election so will elaborate. This is a conflict between the opportunity to create a true democratic state against the insidious ideological based state. Ideological states are authoritarian and deny the true expression of the positive will of the people we saw this in Nazi Germany , communist Soviet Union , North Korea , Islamic Taliban Afghanistan , Green revolution Libya , Baas party Iraq , Syria , communist Yugoslavia, Erdogan's Islamic Turkey and Ceausescu's Romania to name a few. Since they all refused a peaceful transition of power ended up by bringing sorrow, misery and tragedy to their own people primarily. Soviet communists always won 103% of the vote every time there were elections but today can even get 1%. Today in Ghana we see party commissars like Koku , Nketia , Boamah defending a rotten corrupt govt as that is symptomatic of such regimes that they are blind to the atrocities and injustices against their own people . People don't progress based on merit or hard work but are selected by the oligarchy . Nazis Taliban or fake revolutionaries do not see the evil they promote and eventually pay the price themselves in a pool of blood . Erdogan said their rockets are the Mosques now we know he supports Islamic criminal terror yet our govt gave them land to build a replica of Aya Sophia and quietly establish Muslim terror in our country . In Ghana we have a mix of and ideological regime with its foundations built on tribalism , hegemony , Islamic discrimination and anti Akan hatred so that a neo colonialist state meant to exploit the wealth of the Akans . Some may say we exaggerate but then i ask them have they not noticed that 99% of free thinking independent minded Ghanaians whether in the diaspora or in Ghana are all unified in their opposition to this regime of corruption and terror . Yes kumi preku ,all die be die because we shall never surrender or be intimidated. To the hypocrite NDC i ask are really ready to take a bullet for Mahama because we are ready to die for our freedom as there can be no peace without justice . No development in a nation divided . The choice is theirs , if they refuse a peaceful transition of power then force will be applied.No where in the world in a true democracy can a govt plagued by so many scandals of corruption , mismanagement , incompetence and negative economic indicators hope to retain power . What about Koforidua Anglo Town? The same shameful story was replicated. In less than two years of Kufuor's administration, the Water works-Zongo-Anglo Town- Minyila stretch of road was constructed yet the NDC succeeded in deceiving the Zongo people that Kufuor did not do anything for them.
When Atta Mills came to power in 2009, they hurriedly went to Anglo Town to clear some places claiming that they were also going to
construct roads in Anglo Town and in the process, they destroyed people's shops and businesses but they weren't able to construct a centimeter of road in Anlo Town. A lady, called Agie, who lost her business because of the hurried demolition has gone blind till date out of shock. Many other victims have relocated to Accra to practice odd jobs and some of the boys have left the country to North Africa through the dessert. This is how destructive NDC could be to Zongo and Anglo communities

In Economics, we have something we call linkages and you have have provided enough linkages for the economy to take off. It's up to us Ghanaians to take advantage of it rather than sit on our lazy asses waiting for manner to drop from heaven.
Linkages in a layman's language is building infrastructure that creates jobs e.g The Construction worker gets a job, he can now send his son to private school, the private school owner then has one more student and can now afford to buy the laptop that the school needs,the laptop seller sells one more laptop and can afford to take his wife to a restaurant for a meal, the restaurant owner then has one more customer to feed and has to buy more ingredients from the market, the market woman sells more at the market, and so on and so forth.
This is what we call linkages.
That's why i get so angry when people make stupid statements about the infrastructure that Mahama has built.
Development is not about the infrastructure per se but the linkages that flow out of building that infrastructure.
I also hope he learn gets rid of the non performing ministers in his first tenure and sort the mess at the harbour.

I remember during Acheampong' and Rawlings time , the whole country came to a halt because there was no major investment in infrastructure to kick start the economy. Kuffour did so and his linkages kicked in the last 4 years of his tenure but unfortunately Mills messed it all up and Mahama had to pick up the pieces. Mahama's linkages from his investment in infrastructure will start kicking in next year.

We therefore need to change our constitution to enable a President to serve at least 6-8 years term for long term plans to be formulated and executed otherwise as soon as there is a change in government, the plans are just discarded.
If we look at all the countries that developed, they all had people in charge for more than 20 years. Everybody needs to be working towards the same goal for a long period of time otherwise there will be no development.

For continuity projects once put in place by the current gov't , the funding and the management must be put in the hands of the civil service who will ensure that it is carried out and payed for till the end regardless of a change in gov't.
In Ghana it is different in reality because the new gov't thinks it has the power to decide whether to continue or not.
Hence the gov't in power always opts for short term projects which will be completed withing their term of office in order to take the credit.
For every 1 Mugabe ,there are 10 long term leaders who have developed their country.
