New Patriotic Party communicator, Edmund Kyei has congratulated President-elect Nana Akufo-Addo on his historic electoral victory over the National Democratic Congress in the December 7 general elections.

Speaking to this reporter in a telephone interview, Edmund Kyei said Akufo-Addo would not renege on his campaign promises, as he intends to address the prevailing economic challenges, to make life bearable for the citizenry, especially the youth.

Under Akufo-Addo’s leadership, Edmund Kyei believes corruption and nepotism, which he said, characterized the Mahama-led government, would not be entertained.

“Nana Akufo-Addo and the NPP will fulfil all the campaign promises because it was based on that the people of this country voted for us. I strongly believe Akufo-Addo will rise to the occasion and make Ghana work again,” he said.

According to him, the NPP would be practical towards addressing the country’s challenges, and would not reduce governance to “shared propaganda”.

Edmund Kyei further asked for wisdom for Nana Addo to steer the affairs of the economy in his four-year term.

He, however, advised the President-elect not to replicate the mistakes of the President John Dramani Mahama, stressing that his administration should reveal the amount of rot that the NDC government has created.

“I will take this opportunity to advice the rank and file of the party to eschew arrogance and refrain from repeating the mistakes the NDC made while in office. The NPP has always been the pacesetters so it is important we concentrate on our core mandate,” Mr Kyei advised.
