This is a good idea. The government need to open a ministry for Diaspora Affairs. The Ghanaian Embassy officials in foreign lands need to be educated on how to handle fellow Ghanaians abroad. There should be a bold educational approach in this serious matter. Ghanaians need to be educated through advertisement to realize the fact that, Foreign Ghanaians are not their enemies. Ghanaians abroad have acquired enough education in various fields. The government need to tap into this corps of Intellectuals. The ministry I am referring to , can access a data base on Ghanaians abroad to sell the ideas to them from a positive approach. Even if the Ghanaians do not want to return, they could be encouraged to contribute monetary to the welfare of Mother Ghana. The government can invite the Ghanaian business executives and all the professionals in all fields of life for a conference, where the government can learn more about the concerns of Ghanaians abroad. Long live Ghana. After all Ghanaian diaspora's fell home sick of Mother Ghana.

Even one common portable aircondition. Electronic and appliances to used will be counted and slapped with heavy customs duty and levity cum taxes. Even a single car brought down to be used as a day to day convenience not for sale will be heavily taxes and duties. A car Pontiac vibe I brought to GHANA recently was purchased for $2,500. Shipped for $1,200.00 and the customs duty alone has cost me $3,400.00. All fees with ghapoha charge is not included and AMana Add OH is appealing to deaspirae to return home whilst Ghanaian now are speaking Lafa Language and grazing dollar without respect to how its acquired. Even those in the US do not spend dollar like thecwsy Ghanaian spend dollar in ghana. Nana reconsidering your appeal by reducing duty and taxes at the harbour and you will see how we will start pouring goods tO the country so even our old parents can enjoy theirvsweat before the die. Nana even a 25kg of rice purchased at samsclub for $9.00 is being customs duties for $5.00. This few bags of such rice meant for family consumption are being levied heavily. Till the harbour is straightened Into t think Ghanaian living abroad will waste their time and money arriving with theirvsavibgs and leaving empty handed. Sorry nana. Good, at least a desk needs to be created in one of the ministries, either planning or foreign affairs to enable Ghanaians abroad with brilliant and workable business proposals to contact. Some Ghanaians will return with ideas, others with capital and investors. But whom do we contact? where do we start from? As the NPP is so desirous in creating jobs, wealth and prosperity, things must be done in ways so different from other past governments. A clear path needs to be provided to enable Ghanaians both home and abroad who wants to help in job creation can contact. The new planning ministry can announce that any young Ghanaian with a good proposal and/or GHS 1billion looking for investment can all this number.
