The new government must understand that policing a nation is a 24hrs a day7days a week operation.We cannot continue to be a reactionary police force who only show up after disasters.And we cannot continue to use soldiers and BNI to do ordinary police duties.It is cheaper to properly train, equip and deploy police at all times.Their presence alone deter majority of the crimes which happen to be crime of opportunity.And we want a discipline force who are tightly supervised and accountable for their performance.This is how it is done everywhere you go.If we are just going to have a reaction force then we need to cut down the number of personnel and allow neighborhoods to form their own vigilantes.
