Inner Cities and Zongo Development Minister-designate, Abubakar Saddique Boniface has revealed that he took to farming when he exited parliament in 2008.

Boniface in 2008 lost the Salaga seat to the National Democratic Congress’ Ibrahim Bey Abubakari—polling 16,033 of the valid votes as against his competitor’s 19,079 representing 44.79% and 53.30% respectively.

He was then the Works and Housing Minister under the erstwhile Kufuor administration.

Answering a query regarding what he had been up to following his exit from parliament in 2008 before the Appointments Committee of parliament, Hon. Boniface said he took to farming in order to survive.

“I went into farming when I left parliament,” he told the committee.

He has since returned to the law making chamber, representing the Madina constituency.

He defeated ALhaji Amadu Sorogho polling 41,412 votes as against the latter’s 32,480.
