US benefiting from free SHS; why not Ghana - Akufo

My people, yes it is true that public school education is free in the USA; but the funding of the US free public education comes from School taxes levied to and paid as part of property taxes. Could we stop comparing the US to Ghana? In Ghana no one wants to pay taxes yet we want the government to fund all our needs. I am not here to blame the citizens but the politicians who go about telling half truth while seeking votes from all the eligible voters. It is okay for our President to make comparisons but all the pertinent facts must be shared with the audience. Folks US public secondary or high school education is free but house owners (property owners) do provide the funding via the said taxes collected by a central body which later on disburses funding to the schools at an agreed rate per student. Government does not be itself source the money but only acts as an agent who pools the taxes for distribution. It is a good thing to introduce public education but would the government be able to sustain this program into perpetuity?
