The Managing Editor of the Insight Newspaper, Kwesi Pratt called on President Akufo-Addo and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration to stop arguing about the Free Senior High School programme and find solutions to it.

He was reacting to the Education Minister, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh’s comment on Saturday, 11th, November, 2017 during an interview on Radio Gold where he said that the previous National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration made no allocation for its Progressively Free Education Programme before it left office.

Mr. Pratt said that,”Whenever the Minister of Education go to parliament and say the Progressive Free Senior High School Programme is not being implemented because there is no budgetary allocation. Is it a good programme when you provide a budgetary.

”It is the Ministry of Education, parliament, and cabinet, they are in power so they should do the right thing so we can rest. The complaint is too much. The NPP should stop complaining and do the work,” he noted.

According to him,”For the 2015/2016 academic year budgetary provision was made. The 2016/2017 budget uncompleted and presented to parliament because it was an election year. So they are in power so if they think such is a bad programme and they want to jettison it; they should go ahead and suffer the political consequences.”

”If they think it is a good programme and want to continue it, they should make the budgetary allocation available and implement it. Let’s debate on this matter,” he further said.
