Founder and leader of the United Progressive Party (UPP), Mr. Akwasi Addai Odike has appealed to the government to as a matter of urgency reduce the cost of petroleum products in the country to ease the unnecessary economic hardship on the people.

“In my humble appeal, I want President Akufo-Addo to do something economically wise about the skyrocketing of petroleum prices”, he appealed.

“In fact, the situation has brought hardship and killing many businesses” the businessman cum politician spoke on Kumasi-based Nhyira FM morning show in response to the 2018 State of the Nation Address by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

The 2016 UPP flagbearer also admonished the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Parliament to offer better solutions to the country’s problems rather than dwell on trivialities.

“The NDC should also give us a better alternative to help the growth of the country”, he told host Aduanaba Kofi Asante Ennin

“I want people to come out to state their opinion and offer alternative ideas that will help government policies and programmes such as one district one factory, one district one dam and several others by this government”, Mr. Akwasi Odike challenged.
