While presidential aspirant hopefuls of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) are still gloating over the whopping GH¢420,000 filing fee they are supposed to cough, General Secretary of the party, Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketia appear to be adding insults to their injuries.

He has stated in the latest interview MyNewsGh.com monitored that the no aspirant should conceive any idea of a refund as that will not be accommodated if the money is paid.

He also revealed that aspirants aside from coughing the amount would be expected to get 559 members of the party with good standing to endorse their forms.

To this end, he is urging the aspirants to come to the National Secretariat of the party for guidelines before making payments because once they do without understanding the process, the amount would never be refunded to them.

About 11 candidates are vying to become the torchbearer of the umbrella family ahead of the 2020 general elections but the announcement of the filing fee appears to have held many in their tracks with almost all crying over the outrageous filling fees.

Professional Electrician, Stephen Atubiga who is already amazed at the amount being announced is calling on the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) to be on the lookout and arrest anyone who pays such an amount.

“Any politician who will claim that he paid the amount of money (GH¢400,000) must be arrested, EOCO must arrest that politician, where did that person get that amount of money?” he asked.

About 1 persons have so far including Former President John Dramani Mahama, Professor Joshua Alabi, Mr. Sylvester Mensah, Mr. Alban Bagbin, Mr. Kweku G. Ricketts-Hagan, Elikplim Agbemava, Stephen Atubiga and Dr. Ekow Spio Garbrah have all announced their intentions to contest the presidential candidacy of the opposition NDC.

The number of persons seeking to lead the umbrella family is expected to decrease there are already complaints about the amount the party seeks to charge as filing fees.
