One of the aspirants seeking to be elected as a Parliamentary Candidate to represent the NDC in the Dome-Kwabenya constituency, Israel Nornyibey, has presented a Toyota Hiace mini van to the party ahead of the 2020 elections.

The aspirant, who has been supporting the party’s activities in the constituency for years, said he presented the van to the party to fulfil an earlier promise.

This comes a day to the NDC Parliamentary primaries across the country. The elections will be held on Saturday,24th August 2019 at some selected constituencies.

At a short ceremony to unveil the 15-seater van to the party’s Constituency Council of Elders at Haatso, Israel Nornyibey said it was part of his strategies to resource the party in the constituency.

“I had made promise to do this to support our great party. As an opposition party, I hope this vehicle will contribute towards the welfare of our party. We are starting our own business in the party to support our people. This is just one of the many things I will do to help the party, ” Nornyibey told pressmen after the ceremony.

He added that the gesture “was not to buy votes” ahead of Saturday’s Parliamentary primaries, adding that it was not a “new thing” since he had always been supporting the party.

The Chairman of the Council of Elders, Mr. Max Cobbina, who received the van on behalf of the party, thanked him and assured that the automobile would be put to good use.

“Hon. Israel Nornyibey has been helping the party with T-shirts and clothes…He loves the party,” Mr. Cobbina added as he asked other party members to lend a helping hand to the NDC.

Present at the event was some delegates, former constituency executives and former spokesperson for the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) Ametor Quarmyne.
