Former Spokesperson at the Presidency (2009-2012) and now Chief Executive Officer of the Atta Mills Institute, Koku Anyidoho has revealed that the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) betrayed him during his detention by the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) last year.

He argued that his detention by BNI was a “cross he carried for NDC”.

According to Koku, the same NDC which hailed him when he was defending the party changed tone when he got into trouble. He said NDC tagged him a “loose talker”.

The former NDC General Secretary said he learnt his lessons when he was released and vowed he would not be an “idiot” again.

“...they tagged me a loose talker when I got into trouble. The same NDC … … So I said I won’t talk again. They can also go and talk? I am bold I will speak my mind but I am not a fool,” he said in an interview on Peace FM and monitored by MyNewsGh.com.

“I am not an idiot. They call me ‘the bull the bull’, The bull is not a stupid animal? They want me to wake up and be fighting everybody. They want me to insult the President. Why. I won’t insult the president...I went into that cell on behalf of the NDC, I carried that cross on behalf of the party. there are lessons that we learnt in life. I refuse to be angry,” he added.

He explained that he was not bitter about anything or anyone but was disappointed in the NDC for being ill-disciplined.

“I am not a bitter person... NDC is dying because of indiscipline... NDC is not a cult,” he added.

Rejoinder: Mr Koku Anyidoho in a Facebook post has debunked the publication by mynewsgh.com stating that NDC has betrayed him. He explained that he is on record to have expressed his deepest appreciation to the NDC and all leaders including former president John Mahama. He advised the public to treat the publication with the contempt it deserves.
