Controversial lawmaker for Assin Central Constituency, Kennedy Ohene Agyepong has vowed to scuttle the National Chairmanship bid of an unnamed New Patriotic Party (NPP) stalwart.

Though he will not give details for his entrenched stance against the person concerned, he reiterated his resolve to work against the party bigwig he alleged was flirting with the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the run-up to the December 7, 2016 elections.

“I am challenging him, he should not dream of contesting as National Chairman. I am daring him”, he disclosed on Oman Fm’s political programme, Boiling Point.

According to him, he (Kennedy Agyepong’s) contributions towards the party’s victory cannot be quantified but is worried over recent developments adding that he will correct all wrongs in the party in order not to put his livelihood on line irrespective of the cost he will pay.

According to him, certain appointments made by the current government have demoralized certain individuals who tirelessly worked for the party saying “my life is on the line. Why is that when Ibrahim Mahama commits a crime I should speak about it but when my own party member commits same I should be quiet. I was not born to lie. If it means speaking the truth to die then I am ready for it”

He claimed some persons are scheming to bring him down with planned meetings at Alisa Hotel in Accra, but said he will not sit down while persons who did little to improve the fortunes of the party bring the current administration under Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo down.

“God has blessed me and they will all be disgraced. Whatever they are doing will fall flat because I am fighting a just course. Na true I go talk. NPP needs to hold an emergency meeting to iron out these things”, he explained.
