There is heavy security at the premises of the Cocoa Affairs Court preparing to give the final verdict in the scandalous judgment debt paid to businessman Alfred Woyome.

Woyome is standing trial for allegedly defrauding the state of Ghc51.2 million.

The case has dragged on since 2012, but Justice John Ajet-Nassam will wield the gavel over the man said to be a financier of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).

The controversial payment was made under the tenure of Betty Mould Iddrisu as Attorney General.

Woyome was arrested on February 3, 2012 after the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), commissioned by President John Evans Atta Mills to investigate the payment to him, implicated him for wrongdoing in their report. He was first arraigned on February 6, 2012, together with three others.

Starr News' Wilberforce Asare who is in court reports that the courtroom is already filled to capacity.

He added also that Woyome "appears calm and collected".
