The New Patriotic Party(NPP) Vice Presidential Candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has asked newly trained teachers to reject what he described as the “propaganda postings by government” which he said are ways to deceive them into voting for the NDC in the upcoming polls.

According to him, the Akufo-Addo administration will keep faith with all its promises given in the educational sector, and ensure it restores greener pastures for all teachers and other unemployed youth in the country.

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has begun postings for newly trained teachers who will not begin work until the necessary paperwork for the payment of salaries has been completed.

A memo dated September 14, 2016, and signed by GES Deputy Director-General M Cynthia Bosumtwi-Sam disclosed the move.

According to the directive the recruited teachers “are not to be in the classroom to teach”. Formal letters and salaries will also be paid only after financial clearance by the Ministry of Finance.

However, Dr. Bawumia addressing a teeming crowd in the Adentan constituency Tuesday as part of Nana Addo’s Greater Accra regional tour said the recent postings by the Ministry is a sham.

For him, this is intended to deceive the teachers with barely three months to elections.

He pleaded with Ghanaians to vote massively for Nana Akufo-Addo who has the capabilities to create opportunities for jobs in the country.

“You should be wary of the NDC and not fall for this government. It doesn’t have your welfare at heart. Today the Ministry of Education has begun posting of teachers without letters. This is nothing but Propaganda and 419 postings, and you must reject them in the December polls. It is only Nana Addo who have your interest and he’ll give you genuine jobs with appointment letters, and also fix the economy when he comes to power,” Bawumia said.
