2019 was characterised by smash hits and controversies that took over entertainment headlines and also thrilled music lovers across the globe.

What made it more interesting is the ability of entrant artistes who made it to the top list of best songs in 2019 music charts. This, however, does not mean that the veterans have lost their charm behind the microphone.

Although some analysts argue that 2019 has relatively not produced monster hit songs, some songs cannot go unnoticed especially as Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy, Kidi, Sarkodie, Kwesi Arthur and co teamed up with some top international acts such as Beyonce, Beenie Man, Mr Eazi and many more to serve Ghanaians with top class songs which took over the streets, radio stations, TV stations, clubs and pubs.

GhanaWeb shares with you its best collaboration songs of the year 2019.

1. Dj Vyrusky - Baby ft Shatta Wale, Kuami Eugene & KiDi

Given that Kuami Eugene, Kidi and Shatta Wale have been serving Ghanaians with their back to back “singles” it’s appropriate that they combine forces to release a song that will sink straight into the hearts of music lovers and trust me they didn’t disappoint with “Baby”.

Released in March and produced by Dj Vyrusky, He ensured that “Baby “had large volumes of the music virus thus making the song so addictive and popular.

2 Shuga – Stonebwoy ft Beenie Man

Arguably one of the biggest collaborations in 2019! Stonebwoy featured Jamaican singer Beenie Man on the hit song titled ‘Shuga’ with production credit going out to Street Beatz.

The Banger was released in April.

3. Shatta Wale and Beyoncé (Already)

It was clear when Beyonce unveiled the tracklist for “The Lion King: The Gift” album. The news was met with massive congratulatory messages from fans, industry players and fellow musicians including Stonebwoy, Samini, Sarkodie and M.anifest.

However, Fuse ODG argued that the collaboration will benefit Beyonce (perhaps, feasting on Shatta’s SM fan base) but the truth remains the same: Beyonce is a global Queen and wouldn’t need any hype from Shatta Wale to trend or sell her music. And in case Beyoncé earns a Grammys nomination next year, Shatta Wale will be credited.

4. Kwesi Arthur ft Mr Eazi - Nobody

This year has been good for Kwesi Arthur especially for somebody who wanted to be a footballer. After winning an award at the 2018 VGMAs, he got nominated for the BET Viewer’s Choice Awards. Though he lost the award to South Africa's Sjava, Kwesi did not relent in 2019 as he teamed up with Nigeria’s Mr Eazi to release the song titled “Nobody” which became an instant hit.

5. Poverty – J. Derobie ft Mr. Eazi

Derick Obuobie Jnr was one of the new entrants in the showbiz industry. J. Derobie as affectionately called by the masses released a self-written, reflective record – Poverty in January. The song featured Mr. Eazi and was produced by UglyOnit.

6. Bra – King Promise ft Kojo Antwi

Legacy Life Entertainment act King Promise teamed up with music maestro Kojo Antwi to release a love song titled ‘Bra’. The love song which was full of emotions and buzz made waves in Ghana’s music industry.

7. Stevie Wonder - Wendy Shay ft Shatta Wale

RuffTown Records signee Wendy Shay in May released 'Steve Wonder' which featured dancehall act, Shatta Wale. The song was about how Wendy Shay had become a hot commodity in the music scene to the extent that it irks haters. “If you hate her because of the feat she has achieved, die!” - she said in the song. The banger was produced by MOG.

8. Becca – Yes I Do ft. Tiwa Savage

Multiple award-winning Ghanaian singer Becca after the success of her previous single “Driving License” which featured shatta wale unlocked a new jam tagged YES I DO featuring Nigerian songstress, Tiwa Savage.
