Angry NPP youth chase out DCE ; lock office
Some youth in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Krachi West constituency in the Volta region on Tuesday locked the office of the District Chief Executive (DCE), Douglas Osei Nti amidst calls for his dismissal.
According to reports filed by Adom News’ reporter, Obrempong Kwame Owusu, the irate group stormed the office of Mr Nti and requested he leaves the office over claims of non-performance.
In an interview with Adom News, a former NPP youth organiser in the constituency, Sarfo Sunkwa accused the DCE of making the party unpopular in the constituency which they fear might contribute to the party’s loss in the 2020 elections.
“We can’t sit and watch for the DCE to run the party down because we may not get up to 1,000 votes in the 2020 election if he continues to occupy that position. We want him to go,” he said.
To him, the youth worked tirelessly to bring the NPP to power and won’t sit aloof for their efforts to go waste.
