Ashanti Region has regretted voting for Akufo-Addo – Yammin

Mr. Joseph Yammin, Former Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports has observed that the Ashanti region which is the stronghold of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has regretted voting for President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and looking for ways to appease Mahama it treated unfairly.

Mr Yammin noted that the only way the Ashanti Region can atone for its sins is to vote for former President John Dramani Mahama in 2020 for disappointing Ghanaians and voting massively for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in 2016 leading to its electoral victory.

According to him, residents of the region themselves are aware they let Ghanaians in general down by voting for Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo into power in the 2016 polls and are now prepared to vote for John Mahama as a way of saying we are sorry, MyNewsGh.com reports

The former Deputy Coordinator of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) who was responding criticisms that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government is far better than that of John Mahama’s administration on Kumasi-based Abusua Fm reiterated that Ashanti Region has regretted voting for the current government.

He described Former President John Dramani Mahama as someone who development oriented indicating that he would have sprang up various projects if he was President.

“If John Mahama was in power at this time, major projects started would have been completed by now”. He bragged

Commenting on the just ended referendum for the creation of six new regions held on the 27th December this year, the former Deputy Minister said “What happened during the referendum is totally different from what is going to happen in the next election. With that one everybody will vote based on his or her ideology on who should rule Ghana on political interest of the individual before”

Mr Yammin also indicated that the general Ghanaian public will vote against bad governance of the NPP.
