Ashanti Regional Minister, Simon Osei Mensah has laid blame for all the bad road network in the Ashanti Region squarely at the doorstep of the previous National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration, MYNEWSGH.com’s Ashanti Regional Correspondent, Kwabena Danso-Dapaah reports.
According to the Minister, lukewarm and lackadaisical attitudes of former appointees in the Mahama-led administration has also caused the fast deterioration of the roads in the region.
“The NDC government was so unconcern that the 80% road they supervised in the region reduced to 50% before leaving power”, he said.
The Minister spoke on popular local radio Nhyira FM in the Ashanti Regional capital, accusing his predecessors.
“Let me tell them to be quiet on issues of roads. They are the cause of everything”, Hon. Simon Osei Mensah in the one-on-one interview with Aduanaba Kofi Asante Ennin.
The Minister, having established where the blame was, begged residents to exercise restraints with the Akufo-Addo led government as plans are underway to fix all roads in the Kumasi metropolis and in the region.
“Very soon, there will be asphalting of all the roads in the region to ensure durability so I will urge you and everyone to be calm for the government”, he told listeners.
“We understand your plight and I can assure you everything will come over in on time”, Hon. Simon Osei Mensah further assured listeners.
