CSSPS Blues: NPP party agents and foot soldiers managing system – NDC

Party agents and foot soldiers of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) are now manning the Computerized School Selection Placement System (CSSPS) hence, the recent troubles of the placement of the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) graduates into various Senior High Schools (SHS) across the country.

“NPP party agents and foot soldiers are manning the CSSPS and don’t even understand key-in”, Deputy Bono East Communication Officer of National Democratic Congress (NDC), Eric Addai alleged in an interview MyNewsGh.com in Kumasi.

This comes after the Education Minister Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, says the collapses and fainting spells of some of the parents and students at the Black Star Square were staged.

According to the Minister, some persons who wanted to mar the efforts of the Ministry to address the issues of placement of students into Senior High Schools bribed some people to feign exhaustion and collapse.

“The problem of the CSSPS today, this government sacked all staff who are competent to do the replacement immediately they came to power so you cannot blame parents”, the NDC Communicator told host.

Meanwhile, a former Deputy Education Minister has revealed that the recent troubles with the CSSPS have been caused by the government’s decision to change the existing computer software by procuring new one, just three months before the school placement.

The change, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa lamented has left parents and their wards at the mercy of the unscrupulous individuals, some of whom are charging GHC3,000 to GHC5,000 as bribes to place the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) graduates in Senior High Schools (SHS) across the country.
