China ready for Akufo-Addo

The People's Republic of China is ready to welcome Ghana’s President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, and his high-powered government delegation, in Beijing today, Friday.

The Ghanaian leader is on a state visit to China and so the host country has, reportedly, planned an unforgettable welcome ceremony for him, DAILY GUIDE checks have revealed.

As expected, top government officials from China would be at the airport to officially welcome President Nana Akufo-Addo and officials in his government that will travel with him.

President Nana Akufo-Addo and Mr. Xi Jinping, Chinese President, would hold bilateral meetings, which is geared towards benefitting the citizens of the two great countries.

Also joining the president on the state visit to China, would be the First Lady, Rebecca Akufo-Addo, who reports say would use her stay in China to also hold bilateral talks on various interventions initiated by her office.

News about President Nana Akufo-Addo’s visit to China has brought euphoria among Ghanaians in China, notably Ghanaian students, who are eager to see the president in their midst.

Africa Leaders

Meanwhile, scores of African leaders would also be journeying to China this weekend to partake in the famous 2018 Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation.

The much-talked-about summit, would among other things, offer a common platform for the participating countries to discuss key issues that can accelerate growth in their various countries.

The meeting would mainly focus on how China and Africa can deepen their ties and closely work together to enhance growth and effective development for their people.

Checks made by the paper indicated that security has been intensified in Beijing, as China prepares to welcome the African leaders to the summit.

Giant electronic billboards highlighting the upcoming 2018 Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, can be seen placed at vantage points in Beijing, the capital of China.

Most of the hotels in the host country have also been booked by officials of the participating countries, who from all indications, attached much importance to the summit.
