The founder of Danquah Institute, Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko says he admires the posture of diehard members of the elephant family against the imposition of the controversial mandatory tow levy.

“They are not afraid to show they disagree with govt (parliament or executive) on a particular issue. That is credible and principled way of doing politics. Take the tow levy, as an example”, he posted on his facebook page.

Some members of the party including a member of the NPP communications team, Hopeson Adorye have kicked against the levy indicating that it is just an attempt to fleece Ghanaians.

Many are those including Brong Ahafo Regional Youth Organiser of the NPP, Kwame Baffoe aka Abronye DC who share similar sentiments and have threatened to sever ties with the party if government goes ahead to implement the controversial levy.

Commenting on the levy Abronye DC wrote on his facebook wall “I will resign from NPP if this robbery towing service tax is implemented. The NDC under John Mahama passed this robbery towing service Tax but couldn’t implement it due to the fact that Ghanaians and drivers in particular will vote against them. NPP now want to customise this this robbery law on Ghanaians".

"Some of us will not not sit down for Mr Joseph Siaw Adjapong Chief executive of Zoomlion who is behind the force implementation of this robbery towing service tax to collapse NPP like he did in NDC. Joseph Siaw Adjapong undue influence on the select committee of Roads and Transport will not be countenanced by some of us” he added.
