Entrepreneurship conference organised to reduce unemployment rate in Ghana

National Entrepreneurship Conference 2018 abbreviated as NEC 2018 is an annual entrepreneurship workshop organized by Natural Flames, a talent management and entrepreneurship development organization.

NEC is organized with the sole purpose of reducing unemployment problem by bridging the gap between industry and academia. This years’ edition was under the theme: transform your ideas into profitable businesses.

NEC 2018 was patronized by students from The University of Professional Studies, Accra, University of Ghana, Madina Institute of Science and Technology, Pentecost University and other tertiary institutions as well as business owners.

The tutors for this year’s workshop were The Patron of Natural Flames, Mr. Agyemang Badu Collins a Lecturer at UPSA, A Psychologist and the Patron for the Association of Business Administration Students of UPSA.

Mr. Agyemang Badu Collins emphasized the need for students to capitalize on their ideas and focus on business creation instead of relying only on the government to provide jobs.

Mr. Yaw Sakyi Afari, The Host for Courtside show on Kwese Free Sports, The CEO of Rite Sports and the owner of De’lish Restaurant also taught in practical terms how to create businesses out of one’s passion citing several examples of businesses created just from one’s passion in a particular field.

Pratap Chandra Jantua, an International Business Consultant from NIIT was present to teach the attendees the optimal usage of IT as a leverage in effectively managing one’s business.

Other speakers were Mr. Emmanuel H. Dougan, a Lecturer at UPSA and Ms. Comfort Oduro, The CEO of Makola Institute. They also taught the audience some strategic tools they can employ to become successful in their entrepreneurial journey.

The National President of Natural Flames, Oduro Samuel Owusu reinforced the importance of entrepreneurship and the need for students especially tertiary students to take priority in the business creation.

In an interview with the Founder and CEO of Natural Flames, Kwafo Obed Mudey, he stated that he has across a lot of individuals with brilliant ideas which tutored well, will successfully turn ideas into empires creating millions of jobs in the near future. In an attempt to prevent beautiful ideas from perishing, Natural Flames designed NEC to teach individuals the practical knowledge they need to become successful entrepreneurs.

He again stated that the Climax of the National Entrepreneurship Conference 2018 will be crowned with a Marketing Fair 2018 on 27th April 2018. This He said is designed to provide young entrepreneurs the platform to showcase their innovation to the world and also to market their products or services under the lenses of the media. He again stated that it is also time for organizations to advertise their latest products and promote their brand to pertinent audience.

He concluded by acknowledging Cal Bank for supporting NEC 2018 and enlightening the attendees on financial literacy, NIIT, De’lish Restaurant and KD Company limited for helping make NEC 2018 a success.
