The 4th Winneba Company of the Boys and Girls Brigade-Ghana, attached to the Saint John the Divine Anglican Church, Winneba, has been inaugurated.

They were urged to eschew immoral acts that would not help to achieve the aims and objectives of the group and the church.

The group, formed in 2005 with eleven people, now has a membership of 76.

Venerable Rev. Father Samuel Kweku Arhin of the Winneba Archdeaconry of the Cape Coast diocese of the Anglican Church-Ghana, made the call at a special Church service during the inauguration.

He urged them to let the teachings of Christ Jesus equip them to be able to contribute their quota to winning more souls for the kingdom of Christ.

Later Mr. David Arthur, Central Regional Boy’s Brigade Chairman and Mrs Mary Offei-Ansah, Girl’s Brigade, Central Regional Commissioner, who deputized for the National Council of Boys and Girls Brigade, supported Venerable Father Arhin to swear the executives into office.

They urged the entire membership of the movement to be law abiding and to study the constitution of the movement to become proactive members.

Mr. Ishmael Martain and Mrs Glory Eduful, leaders of the group on behalf of the entire members, promised to work to achieve the purpose for the formation of the movement in the church.

Mr. James Andoh-Appiah and Mrs Metlda C. Selbey, all members of the church were honoured for their meritorious contributions that led to the formation of the branch movement.

Mr. Andoh-Appiah said the main objectives of the Brigade were to advance the Kingdom of Christ among the children and to cultivate the habit of obedience, reverence, discipline, self respect.

He commended the outgoing priest of the church and all who in diverse ways helped towards the establishment of the movement and hoped that they will continue supporting them.

Earlier, Venerable Father Arhin had taken the oath of office as the chaplain of the group and was decorated with a cup and a membership card to signify his induction, administered by Mr. Arthur and Mrs Offei-Ansah.**
