The Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) has congratulated President-elect, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, on his election victory.
This was contained in a statement signed by the acting National President, Ms. Philippa Larson, a copy, was made available to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Kumasi.
It assured him of the association’s support and cooperation, saying it has through decades built strong relationship and collaborated with previous governments and has every reason to believe that this was going to continue.
“We believe that your assumption of office will open new avenues of cooperation in education and other related issues towards the development of our dear country.”
The association also saluted President John Dramani Mahama for graciously conceding defeat, a move that has added to Ghana’s democratic credentials.
