God endorsed ‘Kum Yen Preko’ protest – Bernard Mornah

Mr. Bernard Mornah, Chairman of the People’s National Convention (PNC), has claimed even God Almighty was in support of the ‘Ku Yen Preko’ demonstration.

According to him, God in His wisdom sent down torrential rains the day before to prepare the atmosphere for the protesters.

The PNC Chairman stated these when he briefly addressed the demonstrators at the Hearts Park in Accra, where the protest ended.

He noted the huge turnout is testimony Ghanaians have had enough of the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo administration.

He urged the protesters not to rest on their oars but continue to demand from the government what it promised them for which they voted Akufo-Addo into power.

President Akufo-Addo, he said, has not fulfilled his promises to the Ghanaian people and yet has set massive money aside to build a Cathedral and a new Parliamentary Chamber Block.

“Did he promise a new Parliamentary Chamber? Did he promise to build a Cathedral,” he queried?

He called on President Akufo-Addo to give the US$200 million being planned for the construction of the new Chamber to Members of Parliament to put to judicious use.

“It would be useful to proving water and attending to the health and economic needs of the constituents,” he said.

Mr. Mornah expressed profound gratitude to the Ghana Police Service for an admirable professional conduct during the protest.

He stressed that anytime the police conduct themselves professionally, citizens would have no choice but to abide by their decisions.

“But if the police become an outlet to torture the opposition, we shall make their work more difficult.”

“There cannot be police without an abiding citizen and therefore we urge the police to abide by their own professional etiquette and stop intimidating opposition parties.”
